I am so happy that spring is finally here in Allen Park, Michigan! The sun is shining and it's decent enough to go for a walk without bundling up! God is shining down on us today!
I've decided that it's time I began blogging, hopefully as an encouragement to other who love the Lord with all their being and as a place for those who may have questions as to how a Believer in the Lord thinks about life in these days that can be difficult.
At our church, Evangel Baptist Church in Taylor, MI, we are falling in love with our new Senior Pastor Ken Pierpont. God blessed us with fantastic leadership during our 3 year transition of waiting for the right man and I am convinced that God will do some amazing things...as a matter of fact, He has already done some great things!
My husband, Rob has just finished a semester of college and is definitely ready for a 3 month break before the Fall semester begins. He is doing well in Computer Systems Operations, but I tend to zone out when he talks about his classwork. I just don't understand it all! But he is great to have around when our computer decides to have a mind of his own!
Rob and I have been blessed by a fantastic Deacon Care Group here at Evangel. We have a group of Ladies (from the Ladies' ABF class) and they care so much for each other...and for us. We love them very much and pray for them each day. Right now, our Ladies' Ministry has organized a conference which will happen this month. We are excited to have Ann Conway as our keynote speaker and the Ladies' ABF will host her for a nice dinner afterwards.
Earlier today, I was reading a daily devotional from Revive Our Hearts and was honestly struck by a statement. "Usually we are not choosing between good and bad, but between good and best." That's a Truth from the Lord! It's easy to choose between good and bad, isn't it? I love the verse from Psalm 119:68 -- "God is good and everything He does is good." Of course, God's "good" is God's best, right? So when I'm faced with making that choice that is good or best, it's important that I choose based on God's perspective, not mine. If I choose based on my perspective, I could very easily settle for second best (or worse). God loves me too much to see me settle for something that He's not in. So, for today and for the future, I'm going to look for God's best in my choices!
So, "good choice" verses "best choice" began with me enjoying this gorgeous, glorious, beautiful day and acknowledging The Creator who made it!
